On January 7th, 2026 an 2½-year-old girl choked on a toy causing a complete airway obstruction.
Leia put a toy in her mouth which slid down causing a completed airway obstruction. Her quick thinking mother performed first aid choking rescue techniques which could not dislodge the airway obstruction. Nicole then grabbed her LifeVac device and applied it to Leia while she was in a supine position. On the 3rd application LifeVac dislodged the toy saving Leia’s life.
My daughter, almost 3 years old, would probably have died today without this device. She got scared and had a piece of a toy stuck between her lips while playing because she didn’t have a free hand.
