About LifeVac Europe

LifeVac Europe® is a family-owned company dedicated to saving lives in emergency choking situations when standard Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures have not been successful.

The LifeVac® was created by Arthur Lih, a close family friend who was deeply moved after witnessing the heartbreak of parents who had lost their child to a choking incident involving a simple grape. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, Arthur made it his mission to develop a device that could offer a second chance when conventional methods fail — inspired in part by his desire to protect his own daughter, Jackie.

Working alongside Dr. Brody, Eric Banagan (MD LifeVac Europe) and a small team of trusted colleagues, Arthur established a research and development facility in Farmingdale, New York, at the heart of Long Island. Together, they brought LifeVac® to the public with one clear objective: to help save as many lives as possible worldwide.

LifeVac® is regulated as a Class I medical device by leading authorities including the FDA, MHRA, HPFB, MOH, AMAR, IMA, SAHPRA, and TGA, and is CE registered.

We manufacture LifeVac in Devon, UK for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa. LifeVac Europe® is also ISO 13485 accredited, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of medical device quality and safety.

Saving lives around the world

Since the invention of LifeVac® it has saved thousands of lives from choking to death when standard choking protocol has failed in 32 different countries such as the UK, Germany, France, Switzerland USA, Canada, Greece, Spain, Finland, Norway, Poland, Australia and South Korea. Choking protocol (back blows and abdominal thrusts) is only 70% effective when performed correctly by a healthcare professional in a perfect situation. For people that are wheelchair users this statistic drops drastically due to being unable to receive the abdominal thrusts or back blows if in a moulded wheelchair.

In the UK, LifeVac® has worked with and equipped 1000’s of care/nursing homes, schools, hospitals, parents, restaurants and the NHS, helping save hundreds of lives in a choking emergency.

The only regulated non-invasive airway clearance device

Our patented, regulated LifeVac® medical device is designed with a patented one way valve system, this means when applied the obstruction cannot be forced further down. This creates one-way suction to safely and effectively remove the lodged food or object. Being non-invasive means there is no risk damaging the oral cavity, pushing the obstruction further down, pushing the tongue back in a panic situation, no tubes can become blocked rendering the device useless or activating the gag reflex putting the casualty at greater risk.

LifeVac® is the only regulated non-invasive airway clearance device and the only airway clearance device with independent medical testing, and 15 peer reviewed medical publications proving safety, effectiveness, ease of use and lives saved.
