We are thrilled to share news of our 6,254th life saved in a choking emergency!
On July 8th, 2026 a 9-year-old boy choked on a piece chicken resulting in a complete obstruction. First aid choking protocol was followed. LifeVac dislodged the obstruction on the fourth application. The child's father described the incident as follows:
“Our son, who is 9 years old had a choking incident. My wife and I are still trying to process this situation emotionally as well as our son. We are so thankful that I purchased this device when he was very young.
We were in the kitchen after shopping, where we purchased a rotisserie chicken. When we arrived home, our son was very hungry and I asked my wife to give him a chicken leg to hold him over until dinner. It was not but a couple of minutes later when we heard him cough and then he stood and opened his mouth and could not breathe. He walked over to me and as I met him halfway, I noticed that there were tears in his face and that he was changing colour as he was fighting to breathe. I told my wife to get the LifeVac and call an ambulance as I attempted the abdominal thrusts with no success after 2 tries. He was tensing up too much so I told him to lie down and then I gave 4-5 pulls with the LifeVac and then noticed he could breathe again. I then put him in recovery position. This all happened in a matter of 30 seconds or so. I am so very thankful that we had this amazing product in our house. God Bless your entire company for saving our son's life!”
