On June 23rd, 2025 a 1-year-old boy choked on steak during a seizure leaving him unconscious. First Aid protocol was followed. LifeVac then successfully dislodged the food on the third application.

His mother recalls the incident:

“My husband and I believe fully that the LifeVac saved him. We were eating steak, and it was cut into very small pieces for our 15-month-old son. Everything seemed normal until it wasn’t. There were no obvious signs he was choking. It was completely silent. At first, my husband thought our son was just getting tired and dozing off, but then he noticed a change in his colour. That’s when we realised something was very wrong. My husband handed me the LifeVac to use on our son while he called EMS. As a parent, there’s no worse feeling than watching your child struggle and feeling helpless. But in that terrifying moment, we had LifeVac. Having this tool gave us a sense of control in a situation where everything felt out of our hands. I never would’ve imagined my husband and I could remain calm in such a frightening moment, but thanks to LifeVac we were able to act quickly and confidently. Within seconds, our son’s colour returned, and he was breathing again. We are so grateful for LifeVac! It turned what could have been a tragedy into a moment of relief and overwhelming gratitude.”
